How to Apply
Applying for Ophthalmology Residency
Thank you for your interest in the Ophthalmology Residency Program at the University of Florida. We participate in the San Francisco Ophthalmology Matching Program. Applicants must register with their Central Application Service (CAS). Please refer to San Francisco Ophthalmology Matching Program (www.sfmatch.org) website for details and requirements.
Students apply to ophthalmology programs two years prior to starting ophthalmology residency. Therefore, applicants usually apply for an internship (PGY1) year and ophthalmology residency concurrently. However, note that ophthalmology (PGY2 through PGY4) is an early match, while internship applications are via the later NRMP (www.nrmp.org) match. Therefore, for your ophthalmology application to be considered, we must receive it before October 18, 2013.
Applicants invited for an interview may choose from the following dates:
- Monday, November 25th, 2013
- Monday, December 2rd, 2013
- Monday, December 9th, 2013
