Alpha Omega Alpha Award Winner!

On Monday, May 4, 2026 110 medical students from the Class of 2028 presented their research, with the top 5 presentations moving into a final round competition. After careful consideration, a committee of judges selected the most outstanding based on the overall presentation, the data content, and the student’s knowledge of the material.

The Alpha Omega Award went to Evelyn Larson for “Development of a therapeutic approach for inherited eretinal diseases using a magnetic nanobead-mediated gene therapy. Her Mentor is Dr. Jinghua Chen.

The group is congratulated for their universally outstanding presentations and demonstrated master of the projects. Both students and mentors should be proud of their accomplishments. The Department of Ophthalmology is proud of our winners!
