William Hauswirth receives 2014 OIS Innovator Award

Genzyme to Provide $900,000 Grant to Dr. Shannon Boye

Genzyme, a Sanofi company, today announched the establishment of a research collaboration wit the University of Florida and the University of Pennsylvania to develop a gene therapy for the treatment of a rare genetic disease that causes childhood blindness. Read the entire article here.

John D. Ash awarded $300,000 grant from Foundation Fighting Blindness (FFB)

John D. Ash was awarded  three year grant titled:  “Using AAV-STAT3 and AAV-PIM-1 vectors to induce broad-spectrum protection of photoreceptors and PRE” from the Foundation Fighting Blindness.    This project has the potential to lead to therapeutics to preserve photoreceptors and RPE in a large number of patients of retinal degeneration and dry AMD.
