Optometrist and Low Vision Specialist
Jessica Cameron is a native Floridian that exudes positive energy. After finishing residency at the Malcom Randall VA she joined the UF Ophthalmology team as an optometrist. She enjoys working with individuals who are visually impaired as well as ocular pathology management. Daily she works to allow patients to achieve the best possible vision for their daily activities.
Clinical Roles and Interests
Dr. Cameron’s holds a clinical role of vision specialist in ophthalmology, working with patients that suffer from glaucoma and retinal pathology to maximize visual potential. She also educates patients in detail about their ocular condition for better patient understanding. She is interested in continuing education in optometry field related to low vision as well as contact lens and ocular pathology.

Interested in contact lens, pathology, and low vision research.

- Currently active board member of the local optometry society (North Central Florida Optometric Society).
- Active Fellowship Acceptance Committee panel member of American Academy of Optometry, responsible for testing and reviewed written works for optometry fellowship admittance.
- Actively accepts pre-optometry UF students for shadowing opportunities.
- Speaker at local continuing education meetings in Gainesville, FL.
