Comprehensive Service

The UF Health Eye Specialties Comprehensive Eye Service provides basic diagnostic, medical, and surgical services, evaluation of patients who may have visual loss or complaints, but do not have a diagnosis, and glasses and basic contact lens prescriptions.

Contact Lens Service

We offer both Cosmetic contact lens services including the treatment of myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism and presbyopia with both soft and rigid lenses and Speciality fittings including the management of keratoconus, corneal scars, corneal transplants, and aphakia.

Cornea/External Disease

We are Florida’s major referral center for dry eyes, herpetic eye disease and corneal dystrophies, such as Fuch’s dystrophy and lattice dystrophy. We offer the latest techniques in anterior segment surgery including cataract surgery, corneal transplants and refractive surgery (LASIK, PRK, LASEK, INTACs).

Glaucoma Service

We are a regional center for pediatric glaucoma care. UF ophthalmologists offer treatments for trabeculectomies with the use of antifibrotic agents and perform cataract surgery and a variety of laser surgeries for glaucoma patients.

The field of neuro-ophthalmology is concentrated on neurological diseases affecting the visual and ocular motor system. Through our relationship with UF neurologists, neuroradiologists and neurosurgeons we offer the most advanced treatment options for optic nerve diseases.

Oculo-Plastics Services

These cases include repair of entropion and ectropion, blepharoplasty, lacrimal surgery, and ptosis repair. Special emphasis is placed on orbital surgery, as well as the repair of traumatic floor fractures of the orbit and lid lacerations.

UF Health Eye Clinic Ophthalmology

REFRACTIVE SURGERY

(iLasik) Service

iLASIK is the most advanced LASIK procedure available. It is performed by combining bladeless corneal flap creation and customized corneal correction based on a “fingerprint” of your eye. UF Refractive Surgery Center is currently the only provider of iLASIK in the area.

Adult Appointment

The first visit to the ophthalmologist is a comprehensive evaluation that will take about one and a half hours. Your visit may take longer if you need specialized testing or have complex eye problems.
